June 2026
Flexagon just wrapped our first time exhibiting at GartnerAPPS 2026 Las Vegas, and we are still processing how much ground we covered in three days.
This is the premier conference for enterprise application and software engineering leaders, drawing senior architects, VP-level application owners, and IT directors from across industries to hear Gartner analyst research and connect with solution providers. For Flexagon, it was an important bet: were the people we build for actually in that room? The answer was yes, and then some.
Who attends the Gartner Application Innovation & Business Solutions Summit?
The summit brings together the people who own enterprise application strategy. The titles we spoke with most often were enterprise architect, VP of IT, director of application development, senior solutions architect, and DevOps manager. The industries represented spanned healthcare payers and providers, financial services, energy and utilities, industrial manufacturing, higher education, government, and professional services.
The platforms in the room were almost universally Oracle, SAP, and Salesforce often in combination. These are organizations running complex, mission-critical systems at scale, and the people attending are the ones responsible for keeping those systems stable while also moving them forward.
The conference brings together enterprise application and software engineering leaders focused on modernizing their application portfolios, covering tracks on leadership strategy, software engineering practice, and cost optimization. These are the people responsible for keeping mission-critical systems stable while also moving them forward.
What does Gartner say about enterprise application modernization?
The session agenda at GartnerAPPS is a useful signal, because Gartner builds it from analyst research and tens of thousands of conversations with enterprise IT leaders each year. The themes that dominated this year’s program confirmed what we were already seeing in the market.
Sessions on ERP risk and transformation drew significant attention, including “Take Charge of Your ERP Future Before SAP Does It for You” and “How Application Leaders Can Balance Benefits and Costs in Application Modernization.” There was strong interest in governance and program maturity, reflected in sessions like “Enterprise Applications at the Board Level: How to Win Strategic Approval” and “Top Attributes of High-Performing Enterprise Application Programs.” Platform strategy and application lifecycle were also recurring threads throughout the week.
The throughline across all of it: organizations are under real pressure to modernize their enterprise application estates, and the ones that do it well treat change as something to govern and control, not just execute and hope for the best. That framing maps directly to what Flexagon does.
Why do Oracle and SAP migrations fail?
Across the full range of organizations and roles we spoke with, the pain was remarkably consistent.
Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP ECC migrations don’t fail because of bad technology. They fail because of zero change control. Manual deployments create configuration drift, audit gaps, and costly rollbacks that no team can afford.
The specifics varied: some teams had stitched together combinations of Jira, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and homegrown scripts. Others were managing ERP configurations through largely manual processes with no structured audit trail. Many had started down the path of building internal tooling and realized partway through how much it was costing them to maintain. The underlying challenge was always the same: when you are making changes across Oracle, Salesforce and SAP environments without automated, traceable pipelines, you are one bad deployment away from a serious problem.
Is GartnerAPPS 2026 Las Vegas worth attending?
If you are an enterprise application leader managing Oracle, SAP, or Salesforce environments, the Gartner Application Innovation & Business Solutions Summit is worth your time. The conference is shaped by data-driven insights and over 200,000 annual conversations between Gartner analysts and the IT community, and it connects more than 2,300 senior application and software engineering leaders for peer networking across industries.
The sessions are research-grade and practical. Peer networking is genuine. And if you have a DevOps or configuration management challenge, the exhibit floor has more relevant vendors than you will have time to see.
For those of us on the vendor side, it reinforced something we already believed: the organizations investing in structured, automated change management for enterprise applications are the ones that will come out of their ERP migrations in better shape. The ones that are not, are building up risk they will eventually have to pay down.
The problem we are here to solve
Flexagon’s Configuration Management and DevOps platform brings discipline to every functional and technical migration across Oracle and SAP, replacing ad hoc processes with automated, repeatable pipelines that treat every change as a traceable, auditable artifact, from development straight through to production.
Every change. Every environment. Every time.
