FlexDeploy 4.6 – Taking What’s Great and Making it Better

Green Bay, Wisconsin, June 5, 2018 – Today Flexagon released FlexDeploy 4.6, extending the market leading DevOps platform with new features which help deliver high-quality software faster and with lower cost and risk. In addition to many new features, FlexDeploy 4.6 includes additional platform support, improved usability, and extensibility.

FlexDeploy is a DevOps and Application Release Automation platform that lowers project risk and cost, while accelerating software delivery. It provides a comprehensive and integrated platform for orchestrating the entire build, deploy, and release lifecycle. Users are able to capitalize on their investments and innovate faster, with extensive automation, improved controls, and visibility to information like never before. FlexDeploy is an open and extensive platform which includes pre-built content for commercial technology such as Oracle Middleware and E-Business Suite, MuleSoft, WebSphere, Salesforce, Informatica, ServiceNow, Docker, and many other commercial and open source tools and technologies.

Highlights of the FlexDeploy 4.6 content:

Platform Support – Ongoing investments to connect to everything, enable additional security use cases, and make the deployment of FlexDeploy as fast and easy as possible. Examples include additional supported algorithms for SSH configurations, endpoint configurations supporting sudo for added flexibility and alignment with enterprise security policies, and better connectivity to MacOS endpoints.

Usability – Ease of use is extremely important for developers, administrators, release managers, and anyone using FlexDeploy. We continue to improve aspects of the overall user experience, with some enhancements helping the initial implementation of FlexDeploy while others make a positive impact on productivity, ongoing administration, and general day to day usage. Examples of usability improvement in 4.6 cut across security administration, project creation, ease of debugging, configuration of tools such as Jira and ServiceNow, and task and approval management.

Extensibility – Our customers use a diverse set of technologies and need a platform which easily integrates with existing tools and technologies, and enables the adoption of new technology over time. Examples in 4.6 are the enhancements to the Sonatype Nexus and JFrog Aritfactory plugins, which improve the ability to integrate those popular artifact repository management tools with FlexDeploy. These new features help enable end-to-end automation of the software delivery lifecycle via seamless toolchain integration.

Release and Pipeline Enhancements – FlexDeploy 4.6 includes significant enhancements to the Release and Pipeline capabilities, focused on pipeline reusability, dynamic release management and snapshot execution, and improvements in release and pipeline insights via dashboards, reports, notifications.
